AN INCREASE IN WILDLIFE-RELATED ACTIVITIES

More and more Americans-over 40% of the U.S. population over 16 years old-participated in wildlife-related activities in 2016. A U.S. Fish and Wildlife survey indicated that the most substantial increases in participation involve wildlife watching-observing and photographing wildlife. Expenditures by wildlife watchers rose sharply from 2006 to 2016, from $59.1 billion to $81.1 billion.
