During this biennial rulemaking New Hampshire Wildlife Coalition is advocating for the following rule changes:
Closing the fisher trapping and hunting season.
Setting a total bag limit of 3, statewide and season long, for both species of fox. This limit to apply to take by any means.
Close the hunting season for coyote from April 1 through August 31, the period during which they are denning and raising heir young.
Requiring registration of all furbearers taken by hunting. Currently anyone with a hunting license can shot as many of any species as they want during a seven-month open season (or for coyote, a year long open season). Note: We are happy to see that New Hampshire Fish and Game has proposed this rule in the draft of their biennial rules.
